Pain Clinic
It is not uncommon for oncology patients to experience pain before, during or after treatment. The Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (SCCA) Pain Clinic staff is dedicated to managing your pain as best as possible.
To contact the SCCA Pain Clinic, please call: (206) 288-2014, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Your oncologist will refer you to the SCCA Pain Clinic if your pain is complex in nature, if your pain is not easily controlled with common medications or if your doctor anticipates marked changes in comfort as you undergo cancer treatment.
The clinic is staffed by Ellen DeBondt, RN. She is available to discuss pain issues Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Appointments are available at the SCCA Pain Clinic on Tuesday afternoons.
In addition to our registered nurse, the SCCA Pain Clinic team consists of an attending anesthesiologist and pain specialist, Dr. Dermot R. Fitzgibbon, MD; a certified physician assistant, Holly Venugopal; and clinical pharmacists, Nancy Cherry, RPh, and Julie Garrison, PharmD. Where appropriate, we involve additional staff, including physical therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists and occupational therapists, to help in your care. We also collaborate with other physicians and keep close contact with you in order to personalize your pain-management plan. Our goal is to help you gain control of your pain and improve the quality of your life.
If you are interested in a referral, we recommend that you talk with your doctor. Please don’t hesitate to call us at (206) 288-2014 if you have additional questions about the service.
